Your product listing is the first thing a buyer sees. A weak listing means missed inquiries. A strong listing converts browsers into paying customers. Here's how to write one that works.
1. Lead With a Clear, Keyword-Rich Title
Your title should describe exactly what the product is. Include the key attribute buyers search for. Compare:
- ❌ "Handmade Product from Nepal"
- ✅ "Organic Himalayan Timur (Szechuan Pepper) – Export Grade, Non-GMO, 25kg Bags"
2. Write a Description That Sells and Informs
Structure your description in three parts:
- What it is – Material, origin, dimensions, grade
- Why it's good – Key quality indicators, certifications, unique selling points
- Who it's for – Importers, retailers, distributors, manufacturers
3. Set Transparent Pricing Tiers
Always offer tiered pricing. Buyers at different scales need to see their price immediately. If you show "Contact for Price", many buyers won't bother.
4. Upload High-Quality Photos
Photos are the most important factor in a buyer's first impression. Include: A clean product shot on a neutral background, a shot showing scale, packaging photos, and certification documents as images.
5. List Your Certifications
Any certification you have should be prominently listed: ISO, organic, Fair Trade, GI, HACCP, and export licenses all add credibility and filter out unqualified buyers.
6. Be Specific About Lead Time and Shipping
Buyers need to plan. Specify: production lead time, available shipping terms (FOB, CIF, EXW), ports of departure, and whether you can provide a freight quote.
